When we began, back in 1914, we were a vertically integrated apparel manufacturer, serving retailers across the United States. Today, we are still doing the same thing, though there have been seismic changes in what we do, how we do it and where we do it.It all began in a small knitting mill in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The fibers we used were cotton and wool – there were no synthetics in those days. The products were mostly ladies and girls petticoats, sold under the ColdPruf brand. Back then, females wore only skirts and dresses and this was the necessary undergarment. Next came bathing suits for women and men. One of the more creative early products was knee warmers, a simple knitted tube worn over the knee for warmth. In fact, this was our very first cold weather product.Along the way came a variety of other products – women’s slips and ½-slips, and camisoles, all made from nylon tricot fabrics. These were sold under the Figurfit brand. Then came nurse’s uniforms sold as Topstyle and then the Sleeping Beauty line of children’s sleepwear.Around 1985, we decided to focus solely on thermal underwear and base layer products. Our operation was uniquely suited for this type of production. It was a niche market where we could truly excel. And we did! Our Indera and ColdPruf brands rapidly captured major portions of the market. We o•ered extensive product lines at all price points. We had something for everyone and our value was, and still is, unsurpassed. Today, we have a loyal customer base, built over years of good service, consistent quality. and integrity. For this we are thankful. Now we are part of the Intradeco Apparel family of companies. We joined forces with Intradeco last year to ensure our future success. We are excited to be able to continue doing what we love to do – taking care of your cold weather needs. If you see any change in us in the future, I promise it will be for the better. And don’t be surprised to see some new and innovative products coming your way.PresidentJohn Willingham
