When I was still an installer, I went to a call and was hoping no one would be home but a women answered the door, and very quickly closed the door behind her. I thought it was a dog that she didn’t want me to see, but it was a PIG! She gave me specific instructions of how to get into the house, but I froze and my body felt paralyzed. But I did it, I installed her cable and didn’t lose a finger! -JasonWhen I was installing in the beginning of my career I had helped a customer upgrade her Internet and boxes. She told me she used to work with John Walson at his appliance store. I was so amazed that I just met someone that helped John form SECV as it is now many years ago.-DillonIn Memory of Betty NewtonI am very thankful for Margaret Walsonavich for hiring me, she treated us very well and trusted us! Another good memory is when Steve Barnish said over the 2 way radio that a bridge fell down and he said it was like no big deal. -BettyI almost missed my first interview and came in a hoodie and camos. Coming from Virginia, I thought this was a little Mom & Pop company. Once I made it through the 1st interview and heard about the benefits, boy oh boy did I dress to impress for the second interview! Thank you Holly, Sam & Dwight and SECV for giving me the quality of life that I was searching for. Thank you to all my CSR friends that helped me get through the first 6 months of training.-KarolI had a customer call saying their smart TV wasn’t showing the picture, troubleshooting didn’t work so we decided to do Visual Connect. That worked and the client was very happy!-LisaMarch 2012 – The Mahanoy City conversion – a hectic 2 weeks, we worked non-stop to finally transition to one company! -Becky CONNECTIONS Q4 2023 11My memory is on a time we came across a fiber cut known as the Gibralter Bridge outage. Everyone came together from CSR’s to management. It was a proud day and made me want to do more here.-VictorSharing the holidays with co-workers with Halloween and Christmas cubicle decorating and Christmas party. Also the comradery with personnel from other offices at the annual Cable Academy. -TimMy first week of work/training and meeting all my co-workers and the relationships with all the guys. I felt welcome by all of them.-JasonI remember one time we had a picnic outside and ice cream for the employees, it was so nice as it was hot that day!-Kelli My favorite memory is carrying the helium balloons in the Funfest parade every year. I also enjoy being with my co-workers outside of work, our Christmas parties, working Funfest and really enjoyed the 75th picnic in July. -SueBeing overwhelmed my first few weeks starting my job as a headend tech.-JohnI had a trouble call in Milton years ago for a gentleman on Hepburn Street that was 98. He told me he grew up in that house and his family was the third customer to get cable TV and the first family to get a color TV. The neighbors would come over on Sunday and watch Dinah Shore.-Bill
